All manuscripts (mss) are critically reviewed, the final decision as to a ms suitability lies only with the editors. Five types of papers are acceptable: letters, articles, feature articles or reviews, comments and errata. Letters: is a concise, but complete, description of a limited investigation where timely publication is a key factor. Letters should be as completely documented, both by reference to the literature and description of the experimental procedures employed, as a regular article. Letters are restricted to ca. 2000 words and 3 – 4 figures. Articles: should be complete and authoritative accounts of work, which has special significance and general interest, presented clearly and concisely. Articles are published in the order of acceptance. Feature articles or reviews: are commissioned by the Editor-in-Chief. Review papers furnish critical analyses of topical subjects. Authors intending to offer critical reviews are advised first to contact the Editor-in-Chief. Comments: Comments and replies should be limited wherever possible to two printed pages (including figures). They will be refereed in the normal way. Errata: are author's corrections to printed mss, limited to the length required to correct errors. |
Form and preparation of manuscripts
All articles must contain the same Abstract in English and in Spanish. The abstract is the part of the paper which will be read by the largest number of scientists so it plays a crucial role. The abstract is a condensation of the information (facts) in the paper; it is not a description of the contents of the paper. The abstract should present as much as possible of the qualitative and quantitative information contained in the paper yet it should be brief (50–250 words), specific and self-contained. The abstract should not include trivial experimental details, figures or equations.
For bitmapped line drawings use a minimun of 1000 dpi. For colour of greyscale photographs(halftones): always use a minimum of 300 dpi. For colour images (special charges) always use CMYK. Combinations bitmapped line/half-tone (colour or greyscale): a minimun of 500 dpi is required.
The lettering on your artwork should have a finished, printed size of 7 pt for normal text and not smaller than 6 pt for subscript and superscript characters. The absolute minimum line width is 0.5 pt; however, a minimum line width of 1 pt is preferable. Chemical structures should be produced with any standard software and considered as a standard figure. The software used should be indicated.

For citing and listing of web references, as a minimun the full URL should be given. Any further information, if known (author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given.

Revised papers should normally be resubmitted within 12 weeks of the date of rejection. The new version of the ms should be accompanied with a letter from the authors where the introduced changes are indicated and explained. The dates of receipt of the original and final revised versions will both appear in the publication. All revised copies will be sent back to the original reviewers except when the suggested corrections are minor. Galley proofs There will be no galley proofs since the material employed by the publishing office will be the file supplied by the authors. The authors would be asked to revise a proof, only in the case where a problem had been detected Copyright transfer Corresponding authors will be required to sign a copyright form provided by the Editors. Authors should ensure that permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Web). Page charges There will be no page charge for Members of the Asociación Química Argentina with their membership dues updated (no waivers will be allowed for papers published with colour figures). Other contributors will be charged 7 U$S per final printed page. Bank transfer, checks (made payable to the order of Asociación Química Argentina) and VISA credit card, could be used to pay for page charges. |
