Instructions to authors

 

Scope and editorial policy

 

Revista del Museo de Antropología: is a six- monthly (2 issues/year) scientific journal edited by the Museo de Antropología (Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba). The journal publishes original contributions and unpublished research results ontopics of Anthropology (archaeology, social anthropologyand bioanthropology) and Museology related to the exhibitand curation of tangible and intangible materials related tothe discipline. The journal accepts the following contributions: Original Articles, Short Notes, and Book Reviews. The original articles can be grouped into Dossiersproposed by the editors or by guest editors.

This is an Open Access Journal.

All contributions will be subject to peer review nominated ad hoc by the Editors of the journal and the Editorial Board.The Editors retain the right to reject contributions submitted if they do not meet minimum quality requirements, if they exceed the maximum length set for each category or if they are unpublished results of investigations. The Editors decision is final and shall not be entitled to reply.

 

 

Form and preparation of manuscripts

 

Rules for the presentation of originals
1.Title
The title of the paper will be concise and possibly explanatory of the content of the article, capitalized in centered, without underlining, letter size 12, bold. The main title can not exceed 150 characters. One must be included in the main language and one in a secondary language in one of the following combinations: Spanish-English; Portuguese-English; English - Spanish or Portuguese.
Primary subtitles will be left in uppercase / lowercase, bold, without underlining the double spacing of the text that precedes them and one that follows.
Secondary captions should be written in the lower left margin in cursive.
In no case are footnotes made from primary or secondary titles. These will be automatically deleted from the text and located in the acknowledgments section.
2. Authors
Names and full name of the author / centered, with asterisks that send in the following line to the authors, the institutional affiliation and the electronic mail. The following format is suggested:

3. Summary and keywords
A summary in the main language of the text of not less than 150 words and up to 200 words, in normal font, size 12 and another in a secondary language in any of the following combinations: Spanish-English; Portuguese-English; English-Spanish or Portuguese. Five key words will be included following the same criteria with the languages used in title and abstract.

4. Text
The length of manuscripts corresponding to articles may not exceed 10000 words including bibliography (which may not exceed 20% of the total).
The format of the text should be presented in a file with a .doc file extension for Microsoft Word to space and a half in sheets A4 (210 x 297 mm) with 3 cm margins and letter size 12. Paragraphs should not be indented and left a space between them.
Scientific names of taxa should be written in cursive only at the genus and species level: Homo sapiens, Lama guanicoe.
Words other than the language in which the work is written, titles of books, journals or works should also be italicized when included in the text and those that the author believes necessary to emphasize.
Use the metric system for references in text, figures or tables. Metric abbreviations: without final point such as meter: m, centimeter: cm, meters above sea level: masl.
The results of dating will be expressed according to the example: 2040 + 75 ARCP (abbreviation and number of the Laboratory). Calibrated dates should be identified as such, using the cal D.C. Or cal A.C. Indicate whether the calibration is made with 1 sigma or with 2 sigma and present the calibrated age as a range of the calendar age.
Cardinal points: in Spanish and in capital letters, its abbreviation without point (ie use O for West instead of W.). All numbers above 9 (nine) must be expressed in Arabic numerals and the numbers zero through nine can be expressed in words. Ordinal numbers are always expressed in words (third, fourth ...).
At the end of the article, before acknowledgments or bibliography, the place of residence (or production of the article) of the author or work team, laterally written to the right, and end date of writing, will be included laterally, such as:

Textual Quotes

The quotations will be in quotation marks and when they exceed the three lines, they will be inserted in a separate paragraph, with a space above and one below, and with left margin to indent.
Figures and Tables
The number of Figures and Tables should not be excessive. In general, an average of two tables and four figures per article are accepted, as long as they are necessary. If the work has more than this amount of Figures and Tables we suggest contacting the editors before sending.
The information in the tables and figures should not be repeated in the text.
They will be presented in sheets and separate files each, indicating in the body of the text with CAPITAL LETTER, centered, where they will be inserted. Only exceptionally will be included landscape tables, these will be presented to simple space and body 10.
The tables must be sent in MS Word or Excel format or its equivalent in OpenOffice.org. Tables sent in other formats will not be accepted.
In separate file will be placed the legends of the figures and tables being their correlative numbering for each case. These must be in the local language of the text and in a secondary language (preferably English).
All illustrative material should be referred to as "Figure" and should have very good quality. Shaded tables with grays will not be accepted, unless warranted.
The maps must contain the indication of the geographical orientation and a box with the reference at regional / provincial and country level.
All figures must have a graphic scale. Authors will accept suggestions from publishers regarding the design of figures, maps, graphs and tables.
Photographs (should be referred to as a Figure) should be sent in *.jpg or *.tiff format with a resolution of 300 dpi or greater and should not exceed a size larger than 1 Mb. Magazine (22 cm high x 15 cm wide). They should be sent in color and grayscale. They will only be published in color in the digital version.

Optional. It will have a 12-letter body and will be inserted at the end of the text and before the Bibliography.
5. Bibliography
The bibliographic list will be ordered alphabetically and will not exceed 20% of the total work. The bibliographical references will be only those cited in the text.
A single author will cite the surname and the year of publication, without commas, as: (Malinowski 2001), two authors: (Malinowski and Levi-Strauss 2001), for several authors: (Malinowski et al.
To refer to page numbers, they will be included after the year of publication, preceded by two points (Malinowski 2001: 125)
In the case of multiple citations, the alphabetical order must be respected, separated by semicolons.
In the list the appointments must respect the following format:
Articles of periodicals:
1 author
Malinowski, B. 2001. Title of the article. Full name of the journal in italics, volume number (part): number of the first page-last page.
2 authors
Malinowski, B., C. Levis-Strauss. 2001. Title of the article. Full name of the journal in italics, volume number (part): number of the first page-last page.
More than 2 authors:

Chapters or articles in books:
Malinowski, B. 2001. Title. Editor, Title of the book in italics, chapter number and number of the first page-last page, publisher, city.
Thesis:
Malinowski, B. 2001. "Title of the Thesis in Quotation marks". Faculty, University, country, number of pages. Type of thesis (degree, postgraduate). Repository location.
Electronic publications
Malinowski, B. 2001. Title of the article. Full name of the journal in italics, volume number (part): number of the first page-last page. Link, without underlining, preceded by http // :, and mention of the date of the last date of consultation by the author in parentheses as: (Last query: DD / MM / YYYY)
6. Notes
The numbers of notes placed in the text should be in superscript and have a font 11 and will be inserted at the bottom of the page. It is recommended to limit its use to what is essential and that its extension is minimal.
Checklist for shipment preparation
As part of the submission process, authors are required to verify that their submission complies with all of the following. Authors who do not comply with these guidelines will be returned to authors.

  1. The submission has not been previously published or has been sent simultaneously to another journal (or an explanation has been provided in Comment to the publisher).
  2. The file sent is in Microsoft Word or OpenOffice.org format.

Text files and tables and figures are sent individually and none of them exceeds 2mb in size.

  1. The text has line spacing and space; The font size is 12 points; Italics are used instead of underlining (except URLs).
  2. The text meets the bibliographic and style requirements indicated in the Rules for authors, which can be found in About the journal.
  3. In this work, the ethical norms established for the Social and Human Sciences
  4. Together with the manuscript, I commit to send a list of at least three possible evaluators (name, surname, email and institution)
  5. In this paper it is accepted that the accepted version will be revised in order to avoid any question related to the plagiarism of other works edited or unpublished. This will be done from automated means.

Those authors who have publications with this magazine, accept the following terms:
