Collaboration guidelines

    • The editorial council will accept original unpublished articles on issues relating to the journal. The period for presentation is in October of each year.
    • Articles should be sent in double format: on 3.5 floppy disk, in Word or similar word processor, and printed. Author details should be omitted on the first page and on a separate page indicate the name, professional category and place of work of the author.
    • Work received will be evaluated by members of the Editorial Council, by the journal’s consultants and by experts outside of the journal. Authors will be advised in writing whether their work has been accepted. Unaccepted work will be returned to sender.
    • For research articles a maximum length of 30 pages of 30 lines is recommended. The text should be written in 12 point. Notes should be written in 10 point, at the end of the article. Bibliographical reviews should have a maximum length of 5 pages. Illustrations or reproductions should be sent as photocopies, photographs or as IT files.
    • In order to unify the system of bibliographical citations and archive numbers, we suggest the use of the following criteria:

Archive numbers should start with the acronym of the archive, in uppercase, followed by the section, subsection and series -where relevant- and the signature of the document. E.g.: AHN, Clero, carp. 1, no. 5.
Cite books as follows: Adelina RUCQUOI, Historie médiévale de la Península Iberique, París, Seuil, 1993 –followed by page numbers.
For chapters or articles in collective works, cite as above, adding the title of the work in italics, preceded by “in”. E.g.: Carole STRAW, "Martyrdom and Christian Identity: Gregory the Great, Agustine and Tradition", in William KLINGSHIRN & Mark VESSEY (eds.), The limits of Ancient Christianity. Essays on Late Antique Thought and Culture in Honour of R.A. Markus, Ann Arbor, University of Michigan Press, 1999, pp. 250-66.
For articles from periodical publications, do as follows: Armando PETRUCCHI, "Escrituras marginales y escribientes subalternos", Signo. Revista de historia de la cultura escrita, 7 (2000), 67-75.
7. Articles should be accompanied by a brief abstract (5-10 lines) in Spanish, English or French and four keywords which identify the content of the work.
8. All correspondence, books for reviewing and original articles should be sent to
