We present U-Pb SHRIMP data of unexposed igneous-metamorphic basement rocks from the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. The newly obtained geochronological data from drill cores are indicative that: a) Rhyacian magmatism occurred at 2106- 2186 Ma; b) peak metamorphism occurred at ca. 2069 Ma.
