BUSTOS, Mariel et al. Examen clínico estructurado objetivo para residentes de pediatría: Presentación de una experiencia. Arch. argent. pediatr. [online]. 2007, vol.105, n.4, pp.333-336. ISSN 0325-0075.
Introduction. Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is a valuable tool to evaluate professional competences in Residency Programs. Population, materials and methods. An OSCE including 7 stations was administered to 25 residents of Pediatrics in their 1st year of the program. We estimated median and centiles of the final and each station scores. After the examination, a survey on resident's opinion regarding the OSCE was administered. Results. From a maximum score of 100 points, median was 50.6 (intercuartilic range: 45-59). The highest score was achieved on the "Neurodevelopment" station and the lowest on the "Interactive case" station. The survey showed that 22 residents considered that OSCE allowed them to identify weakness in their training. Conclusions. OSCE is adequate to evaluate Pediatric residents. Most residents considered it useful to identify weakness in their training.
