Abstract

PAROLO, María Paula. The evolution of prices in Tucuman during the first half of the nineteenth century. Folia [online]. 2016, n.26, pp.96-124. ISSN 0325-8238.

In this article we perform a first approach to the behavior of prices of popular consumer goods in Tucuman between 1816 and 1850. In order to do this, we consulted expenditure war forms and accounting Manual of the Tucuman Treasury; the ledgers of the Convent of Santo Domingo and post-mortem inventories. The quantitative data obtained from these repositories were crossed with qualitative information from rate supply regulations of essential goods in the period and with several submissions issued to the government by providers and consumers.

Keywords : Prices; Consumer; Tucumán; Nineteenth Century.
