Abstract

PARDINAS, Ulyses F. J.. The genus Akodon (Rodentia: Cricetidae) in Patagonia: its current knowledge. Mastozool. neotrop. [online]. 2009, vol.16, n.1, pp.135-152. ISSN 0327-9383.

Six taxa were described or cited for Patagonia under Akodon as today it is understood (i.e., excluding Abrothrix). These are, in chronological order of nomination, Akodon azarae (Fisch.), A. iniscatus Thos., A. iniscatus collinus Thos., A. neocenus Thos., A. nucus Thos. and St. Leger, and A. molinae Contreras. Their taxonomic status and distribution are critically reviewed and commented. The uncertainties regarding Patagonian populations of Akodon are pointed out.
