Abstract
RODRIGUEZ GIL, Sergio G. and MOLA, Liliana M.. Chromosome complement and meiosis of Holmbergiana weyenberghii (Opiliones: Sclerosomatidae: Gagrellinae) from Argentina. Rev. Soc. Entomol. Argent. [online]. 2010, vol.69, n.3-4, pp.167-170. ISSN 0373-5680.
The cytogenetical analysis of the harvestman Holmbergiana weyenberghii (Holmberg) (Eupnoi, Sclerosomatidae, Gagrellinae) from Argentina is reported for the first time. The complement of males is composed of 18 chromosomes. In meiosis there are nine homomorphic bivalents: one large, five medium-sized and three small. The chromosome number of H. weyenberghii is within the range of diploid numbers of the subfamily Gagrellinae Thorell, which shows the lowest chromosome numbers among the sclerosomatids.
