Several biotopes in the riparian forest of Punta Lara, Buenos Aires province, Argentina, were sampled for oribatid mites. Twenty eight species were found, of which seven are recorded for Argentina for the first time: Epilohmannia sculpturata Balogh & Mahunka, Nothrus willmanni Mahunka, Xenillus (Xenillus) fecundus P. Balogh, Xenillus (Xenillus) superbus (Perez-Íñigo & Baggio), Zetomimus (Protozetomimus) polpaicoensis (Hammer), Pseudotocepheus (Pseudotocepheus) pauliensis Pérez-Íñigo & Baggio and Lohmannia (Lohmannia) juliae Mahunka. The most diverse biotope was forest litter, with 20 species. Some zoogeographical issues are discussed.
