Abstract

Fleas (Siphonaptera) parasites of rodents (Rodentia: Cricetidae) from Salta Province, Argentina: new distributional records. Rev. Soc. Entomol. Argent. [online]. 2013, vol.72, n.3-4, pp.141-146. ISSN 0373-5680.

New distributional records of fleas parasitic of sigmodontine rodents are mentioned for the first time for Salta Province, Argentina. The following species are reported for the first time for the Province: Craneopsylla minerva minerva (Rothschild), Agastopsylla pearsoni Traub and Neotyphloceras crassispina hemisus Jordan as well as the genera Cleopsylla Rothschild and Plocopsylla Jordan. Agastopsylla pearsoni is mentioned for the first time for the country. Also, we increased the number of parasites in five species of rodent, and eight new parasitehost associations are reported.
