Abstract
FUCHS, María L; COCILOVO, José A and VARELA, Héctor H. Cambios morfológicos en el cráneo debidos a la edad en la población tardía de la Puna de Jujuy. Rev Arg Antrop Biol [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.2, pp.1-8. ISSN 1514-7991. http://dx.doi.org/10.17139/raab.2015.0017.02.09.
In this paper age-affected changes in cranial morphology in the late population of the Jujuy Puna were evaluated. The sample consisted of 372 skulls of both sexes, in which five age classes (children, youth, adult, mature adult, and senile) were determined and 31 metric variables were measured. Univariate statistics was used to carry out the analysis. Age-related morphological changes in the individuals analyzed were expressed in most of the studied variables. Growth prevailed until adult class and then growth stabilization takes place, with some variation. In adult individuals, major changes occur in the face because it has a slower growth rate and external agents intervene.
