Abstract

GIACOMASSO, María Vanesa  and  ENDERE, María Luz. San Luis Cultural Heritage: Reflections on the Legislation that Promotes its Safeguarding. Andes [online]. 2015, vol.26, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.

At present, cultural heritage is no longer considered from a static perspective that associated it with the traditional idea of "monuments". On the contrary, it recognizes its dynamic and flexible nature which, over time, is constructed based on perceptions and representations given by different human groups. From this perspective, the objective of this paper is to analyze the laws of the Province of San Luis in order to determine how cultural heritage is perceived, classified and protected. To that end, a critical reading of the provincial law from a comparative study of national laws and international conventions ratified by Argentina related to cultural heritage is made, focusing on the most relevant aspects of these rules. Omissions and weaknesses of the provincial law are discussed with special emphasis in order to make a contribution to its improvement in the future.

Keywords : Cultural Heritage; Provincial and National Legislation; International Conventions.
