Abstract

MARINO, Daniela. A rebellion's anatomy: Sicasica valleys, 1782. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2000, n.13, pp.307-324. ISSN 1668-8104.

We will analyze in this paper the testimonies and sentence included in the judicial prosecution against the widow and son of an indian leader of the «great rebellion» of 1781-1782 in Sicasica province (High Peru). They had replaced him after his death and managed to keep this province' valley population insurrected, even after the execution of Tupak Katari. The mentioned source is in AGN Buenos Aires, room IX and, through this analysis, we intend to being closer to the communal politic system -authorities election and office succession, cacique and minor authorities representativity- and the political, social and economic articulations between different communities in Aymara area.
