Abstract

MONDITO, Gonzalo Miguel. Modelos conceptuales y mentales: Elementos para repensar la enseñanza y el aprendizaje. Enfoques [online]. 2014, vol.26, n.1, pp.57-78. ISSN 1669-2721.

Mental and conceptual models would offer a new conceptualization, so as to try the understanding of cognitive processes, for which human beings reason and build knowledge. Belonging to the cognitive psychology, and as an explanatory alternative in contrast with conceptual schemes, the models are postulated as a way of approaching the learning processes, and, why not, teaching processes. This article pretends to develop the main postulates about both kinds of model, and to conclude, on the basis of speculations, about the impact that both have in relation to the learning, showing as critique, risks and difficulties, and also the constructive alternatives in their usage in formal education.

Keywords : Mental models; Conceptual models; Representation; Learning.
