Abstract

This paper discusses both the psychosocial and organizational factors influencing the processes of insertion and achievement in the working world, especially the role of expectations. Typical problems existing in present-day labor market are analyzed in relation with the new working conditions. This article considers the role that the university plays in developing Human Resources and competence at work, as well as the spreading of higher education and how such situation affects diploma devaluation and over-education. Finally, it includes the analysis of the influence of personal expectations in workers’ performance and satisfaction, and its connection with stress and burnout processes.
