Abstract

RUEDA C, Jorge. Risa y resistencia en las poblaciones de Santiago de Chile: 1973-1989. Intersecciones antropol. [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.2, pp.341-352. ISSN 1850-373X.

This article reveals how laughter (laughing) became a part of the socio-popular context during Pinochet's regime. It was, in fact, a way to represent the meaning of life and a form of resistance. A record of oral histories was collected in which people made laughing a feature that activated and reproduced the choice for life. The sample considered for selection in the document archive was extracted from communities emblematic of the general population's resistance.

Keywords : Popular culture; Laughter; Resistance; Libertarian utopia.
