Abstract

PEREZ PIERONI, M. Josefina  and  ANGIORAMA, Carlos. ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVIDENCES OF THE VII TO XII CENTURIES AD IN THE MORETA SETTLEMENT (PUNA OF JUJUY, ARGENTINA).. Comechingonia [online]. 2018, vol.22, n.1, pp.1-10. ISSN 1851-0027.

The results of the analysis of the evidence recovered in a profile of a rubbish heap of the Moreta site, generated between the VII and XII century AD, are presented here. We focus mainly on the study of the ceramic materials recovered on this heap, characterizing the technological traditions involved in their production through macroscopic and microscopic attributes that account for the operational chain of manufacture. Then, we compare the results with the information produced for the rest of the Pozuelos Basin and the few contemporary cases available for the rest of the Puna of Jujuy.

Keywords : ceramic, Pozuelos basin, chronology, petrography.
