Abstract

SEIDMANN, Susana; AZZOLLINI, Susana; THOME, Sandra  and  DI IORIO, Jorgelina. Constructions of identity, youth and daily life: a social representations´ study. Anu. investig. [online]. 2011, vol.18, pp.295-300. ISSN 1851-1686.

An exploratory research was fulilled - Ubacyt project - with the aim of describing daily life social representations constructed by young people, ages between 20 and 30 years old, belonging different socioeconomical levels, through a social representation´s processual approach (Jodelet, 1984, 2006; Moscovici. 1961, 1984, 2001; Banchs, 2000) and a structural one (Abri, 1994). This paper presents the results related to self descriptions, constructed through discourse, by the exploration of their daily life social representation. Depth interviews were carried on which were analized through the construction of emergent categories used to identify the participants´way to deine themselves in the different social positions they belong to. The results show that the participants deine themselves through similarities and differences with other people, and the internalization of values and social hierarchies.
