Abstract

CAMBRA BADIFI, Irene  and  MICHEL FARINA, Juan Jorge. films and psychotherapy: ethical and clinical complexity through analytical reading of films. Anu. investig. [online]. 2012, vol.19, n.1, pp.195-202. ISSN 1851-1686.

The film displays the psychological and ethical problems of human existence in the manner of a modern Greek theater, recovering some staging of the tragic dimension present in every ethical dilemma. In this paper we examine the methodological power through a tour of those films that have submitted therapists on stage, and we analyze ethical issues of high complexity clinical diagnosis in connection with three vignettes: the film Lars and the real girl, where psychopathological diagnoses taken from its moral dimension must be removed to give meaning to the symptom, in La teta asustada, through the doctor's inability to include the socio-historical dimension present in the complex relationship of the symptom with the collective memory; and finally, in relation to the film Wit, on the need to include the word in the medical treatment of a terminal illness.

Keywords : films; Ethics; Diagnosis.
