Abstract

SEIDMANN, Susana; DI IORIO, Jorgelina; RIGUEIRAL, Gustavo  and  GUEGLIO SACCONE, Constanza. THE CARE IN HOMELESS PEOPLE. : AN ETHICAL AND POLITICAL APPROACH. Anu. investig. [online]. 2016, vol.23, n.1, pp.163-172. ISSN 1851-1686.

In the socio-assistance policy with homeless people in Buenos Aires city, social operators´ social representations are involved, about these homeless people, considering them as irresponsible people, lazy and with self-inadequacy. The affective weakness in the transitory social bonds, make them passive objects of care. In the frame of an action research project about the paths of homeless people, from the perspective of themselves, we consider the interventions and care practices that take place in the street situation. We approach these care practices from an ethical and political approach. The results show the existence of tension between those interventions coming from the deficit concern, from which homeless people are considered as "care objects" and other practices held upon autonomy construction and the recognition of homeless people as "care subjects".

Keywords : Homeless people; Social representations; Care.
