Abstract

The study of innovation and technology management in industrial companies, especially Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), in Argentina appears to be important to provide improvements in technology learning in organizational and sectorial levels as well as to give guidelines for supporting policies on modernization encouragement and technological innovations from state level and from employers' organizations. The results of a quantitative study undertaken in Entre Rios Province are presented here. Its main objective was to analyze the technology behavior, innovation capability and technology management of outstanding industrial level firms during the postconvertibility period from 2004 to 2008. The results reveal limited innovation behavior as well as varying innovation capability according to company size, industrial sector, orientation towards exportation and other relevant factors.
