Abstract

AMICOLA, José. Los gauchos insufribles. Rev. Pilquen [online]. 2010, n.13, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-3123.

The article begins with a reflection about the notion of border in the latinoamerican literary field, taking as issue the moment of passage of the urban inhabitant to the rural region, that in many cases of the Argentine literatura is given as a rite de passage made on the train, seen hier as a fractal of the entire construction. The searching for the rural peace of an individual with a metropolitan culture gives opportunity to present a cultural shock and also a symbolical search of roots. This Ur-scene of the Hispano-American texts is used by Bolaño in his short story "El gaucho insufrible" in order to make a parody of the Argentine rural style, addressing his critics to the artificial way of every literary construction, in this case the gauchesca literary genre that in Argentina was seen as the "Patriotic genre". Realism and tradition are modified by Bolaño's post modern writing which gives a mighty knock on the head of every literary certainty.

Keywords : Gauchesca literature; Literary field; Travel; Border; Fractal.
