Abstract

MATARRESE, Marina Laura. A historical path through the territory pilagá. Rev. Pilquen. secc. cienc. soc. [online]. 2012, n.15, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-3123.

Since the late nineteenth century, the territorial use of the pilagá was limited by the advance of settlers -criollos, members of national armies (argentinean, paraguayan and bolivian) and representatives of the agro-capital factions- that were gradually occupying their territories. In this article I analyze the cornering and sedentarization process of the pilagá of the Formosa province, focusing in first place, on the discursive strategies that preceded the installation of a state territorialization. In second place, I consider the military and industrial capital advance on the pilagá territory. Finally, I put in relief the pilagá strategies deployed in the historical situations addressed in these pages.

Keywords : Territory; State territorialization; Pilagá; Cornered; Sedentary.
