Abstract
GINZBURG, Carlo. Miedo, reverencia, terror: Releer a Hobbes hoy. Apunt. investig. CECYP [online]. 2015, n.26. ISSN 1851-9814.
The author uses the Thomas Hobbes's work, The Leviathan, to analyze how he put to work the notions of fear, awe and terror. Regarding the origin of the state, Ginzburg argues that it is originated not only as a result of a convention among men, but as a result of fear and intimidation. The verb to awe, which refers to an ambivalence between fear, reverence, and then the terror, is at the heart of contemporary political power, taking elements from religion to centralize the political power.
Keywords : State; Hobbes; political power; religion.
