Abstract

This article by the end of proposes a new view of a sequence of events the decade of fifty, that allows to understand the democratic rupture that it represents year 1973, in a time of certain extension. One considers like departure point, the last years of the second government of the general Carlos Ibáñez, and in individual year 1957, when a series of significant facts that follows one another they connect with fundamental changes from the perspective of the construction and the sense of the future. These changes, that happen in different levels, can be subtle and many of continuity, but altogether they are going to determine the later political developments. The specificity of a social and political crisis like the one of 1973, is sufficient with considering the causes immediate, neither the less, the precise facts supposing them like a exacerbated answer of the polarization that the country lived. One becomes essential to approach the subject from one more a ampler perspective. Really, it is not possible to be continued with old the dialectic one of overcome winners and, is due "with the language of the own reason of the historians" to approach the antecedents of the crisis, their development like reaction and revolution, the conflicts political and to review the roll that had the intervention of the foreign powers
