Abstract: The article explores the historiographical trajectory of Haydée Gorostegui de Torres and through it the possibilities and obstacles of a new history in Argentina in the sixties. At various points related to the modernization programs of Argentine culture of the time and to the winds that came especially from Annales; and more generally from economic history, the personal and group project would suffer the impact of the general debacle of the institutions and of Argentina as a whole.
