Abstract

CLERICI, Yamila A.. Induction in teaching. Analysis in the faculty of economic sciences of the national university of Rio Cuarto.. SaberEs [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.2, pp.133-156. ISSN 1852-4418.

Abstract. This article focuses on the induction of university teachers. Although decades ago it was considered as something accessory, today it is understood as a central element in the process of teacher retention and improvement in teaching. Specifically, we are interested in investigating, learning about, and exploring the perceptions of teachers from their experience of teacher induction at the time of joining the Faculty of Economics (FCE) at the National University of Rio Cuarto (UNRC). For this purpose, qualitative, descriptive, and field research was carried out, collecting data through electronic surveys to all teachers affected in the year 2020 of the FCE-UNRC. The results obtained demonstrate the need for FCE-UNRC to have a formalized and written induction process that allows for the socialization of new entrants, as this would cover many of the shortcomings experienced by the teachers surveyed in their beginnings.
