The Paraguayan reptile fauna is one of the less known in South America. The Colección Zoo­lógica of the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales (CZCEN) contains unpublished records of Paraguay, that is why we made an annotated checklist of the material from the collection, discussing the distribution of the species and new records in Paraguay. The CZCEN preserves 137 specimens belonging to two species of turtles, four species of amphisbaenids, sixteen species of lizards and forty species of snakes.
