Abstract

PALENCIA AVENDANO, María Luisa. Attention: from a Freudian as well as from a neurocognitive perspective. Subj. procesos cogn. [online]. 2018, vol.22, n.2. ISSN 1852-7310.

This article reviews the notions of attention, which were presented in the Project for a Scientific Psychology (Freud, 1895), that prompt an enriching dialogue with Cognitive Psychology and Neurosciences. First, it considers different notions concerning attentional functions and their neural correlates as well as their capacity of plasticity, opening different deliberations and highlighting the possibilities of the interdisciplinary assembly. The importance of attention is then considered, as a complex process conditioning the action of sensory modalities and perception, underlining memory and moderating the highest levels of the human psyche, consciousness, the unconscious, the constitution of subjectivity.

Keywords : Attention; Neurosciences; Freudian Project.
