Abstract

GOMEZ, P. F.  and  ACOSTA, J. C.. Population structure and individual growth rate of Homonota fasciata (Squamata: gekkonidae) from San Juan, Argentina. Multequina [online]. 2001, vol.10, n.1, pp.43-49. ISSN 1852-7329.

The structure and growth rate of a population of Homonota fasciata from San Juan, Argentina were studied from 1997 to 2000. The capture-recapture methods were used. Two ages group were defined and the growth rate of each were compared. The relationship between the rate and the body size was determinated and the season fluctuation was analyzed. The ages groups presented significant differences in their growth. The rate of growth was correlated negatively with the corporal size and the populational size vary with seasons. The biological parameters obtained were compared with other studies of the genus.
