Abstract

KARLIN, M. S.  and  COIRINI, R. O.. Can fodder determinations obtained by the point-quadrat and double sampling methods be related?. Multequina [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.1, pp.21-26. ISSN 1852-7329.

In the present work, an adjustment model for the gramineous components between the modified Point-Quadrat and the Double Sampling methods is developed. By taking as reference the gramineous biomass values obtained with the second method, it can be stated that the Modified Point-Quadrat method, when the pastoral values (ha EV -1 ) are transformed into equivalent values of forage biomass (kg MS ha -1 ) based on the average consumption of a Cow-Equivalent, overestimates forage biomass values in ranges lesser than 1000 kg DM ha-1. The application of adjustment factors for the different ranges enables to fit a model in relation to the identity function between both methods.
