The article aims to estimate the impact that the national social program “Asignación Universal por Hijo” has had on children’s economic welfare, food security, school attendance and child labor. The study’s data come from the “Encuesta de la Deuda Social Argentina”, a survey conducted by “Programa del Observatorio de la Deuda Social Argentina” for 2010, 2011 and 2012. The article shows that the project has had a positive impact and also points out specific effects on certain population subgroups.
