Abstract

PRIETO, Sol; SAENZ VALENZUELA, María Macarena  and  S. M. TORRES, Germán. Relationship between the State and churches, social policies and public education in Argentina. Soc. relig. [online]. 2020, vol.30, n.55, pp.289-289. ISSN 0326-9795.

This article presents some of the results of the Second National Survey of the opinions, beliefs and attitudes of Argentine society towards issues that are considered controversial by religious and political groups. These are issues labeled as controversial because they have to do with policies, practices and discourses which are part of the public side of religion. Opinions are analyzed regarding the link between the State, the churches, social assistance policies and education (financing, religious education and sex education). We highlight the development of subsidiary secularity in Argentina in these crucial areas of intervention, interpreted as aspects that are in line with the inheritances and displacements of the socio-cultural structure, the religious field and public policies in recent years.

Keywords : Secularity; Social Assistance; Religious Education; Sex Education; Argentina.
