Abstract

BORBON, Carlos Manuel de. Species of genus Frankliniella (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) recorded from Argentina, an update. Rev. Fac. Cienc. Agrar., Univ. Nac. Cuyo [online]. 2013, vol.45, n.1. ISSN 1853-8665.

This work provides an illustrated key to 21 species of Frankliniella recorded from Argentina, including three newly recorded: Frankliniella graminis Cavalleri & Mound collected on Sorghum halepense, Frankliniella otites Berzosa & Maroto on flowers of Senecio spp. and Verbena seriphioides, and Frankliniella williamsi Hood on Zea maiz “corn” leaves. Also, new hosts are given for Frankliniella gracilis. Notes are provided about each species. Frankliniella cognata Hood is excluded from the thysanoptera fauna of Argentina.
