Abstract

GIACCAGLIA, Clarisa. Ten years of BRICS: Western eclipse, Asian rebirth. Temas debates (En línea) [online]. 2019, n.38, pp.63-91. ISSN 1853-984X.

In 2009, the governments of Brazil, Russia, India, China and then South Africa were grouped around the globally recognized BRICS acronym. Ten years after the creation of this block, it is worth asking: What benefits have each of its members obtained as a result of participating in this block? The purpose of this paper is to analyze the individual evolution of each of the member states of BRICS in order to specify the possible advantages that the block meant for each one of them.

Keywords : Emerging powers; BRICS; China; Russia; India; Brazil; South Africa.
