Abstract

RODRIGUEZ, Guillermo; GUERRERO, Rafael  and  NARDONI, Florencia. Repensar la praxis educativa: integrando el hacer en primer año de una carrera de ingeniería. Propuesta educativa (Online) [online]. 2018, n.50, pp.79-91. ISSN 1995-7785.

The construction of an alternative curriculum to the existing one (that we consider exhausted) led us to study interdisciplinary teaching practices. We reflected on the intervention processes, we analyzed the curricular products achieved and we extracted conclusions for the redesign of teaching practices guided by the methodology of the Emancipatory Curriculum. We focus on the theory-practice relationship of the existing curriculum and its dialectical transformation. We used the Emancipatory Curriculum praxis, but we went further because we made the Epistemology of Praxis converge with the Epistemology of Doing. In this regard, this paper studies our experience with the 2016 cohort in the Introduction to Mechanical Engineering course, which consisted of the construction of a solar kitchen as a final curricular product, with the ability to cook an egg. Different disciplinary integration processes took place: search for information, calculation, development of intersubjective links, teamwork, collaborative predisposition, decision making and student questioning.

Keywords : Educational praxis; Engineering education; Problem solving activities; Emancipating curriculum; Curricular integration.
