Abstract

IRIARTE, Ignacio. Collective memory/individual memory: Some considerations on recent culture. CELEHIS [online]. 2016, n.32, pp.31-46. ISSN 2313-9463.

This text aims to study some aspects about the relationship between collective memory and individual memory through a few of Latin American and European texts of recent decades. First, I identify, as a symptom of our culture, the attention that some essayists, writers and directors give to memory. Second, I examine the Cuban Revolution through the Padilla case and the Cultural Revolution through Servero Sarduy and I analyze the autobiographical writings as ways to break with these aesthetic and political projects. Finally, I propose some fragmentary reflections on the present.

Keywords : Memory; Aesthetic.
