Abstract

MOLANO TOBAR, Nancy Janneth; MENESES LLANOS, Robinson  and  ZUNIGA LOPEZ, Carlos Ignacio. Training for disability in physical education programs : Colombia. Educ. fís. cienc. [online]. 2017, vol.19, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 2314-2561.

To identify the programs of the Physical Education, Recreation and Sports field in different Colombian Universities that reflect in their curriculum subjects that develop the subject of disability or the attention to the disability. Methodology. The study presented a descriptive, cross-sectional, quantitative approach, carried out between August 2015 and December 2016, with 63 universities registered in the official platform of the National Ministry of Education of Colombia (SNIES), offering undergraduate degrees or professional programs in Physical Education, Recreation and Sports. Results. It was evidenced that the programs are offered in greater proportion in the Andean and Pacifica zone, in the same way it is appreciated that there are very few programs offered in the field of recreation with respect to the other fields. The estimation of subjects offered for disabled people is relatively small and with low coverage in the areas of Orinoquia, Amazonia and the Caribbean. Conclusions. We found weaknesses in the offering of subjects or courses, within the curriculum, in the topics related to the care for people with disabilities, especially in the Caribbean, Amazonian and Orinoquia areas.
