Abstract

The expansive use of digital media has brought an increasing consumption of sports-related information. For this reason, this paper identified part of the contents uploaded to the cycling channel Pedaleria on YouTube, reported the sources and formats used, and also discussed the interfaces between the content produced by the channel and the knowledge about Physical Education. The empirical material consisted of 36 videos linked to “Health” and “Training” playlists. This review involved qualitative work with images that went through the creation of a notetaking system consisting of a script of three questions. With regard to the contents, we concluded that the points of interest of the channel belong to the medical, physical, and technical fields. The expositive strategies, on the other hand, aim at making users’ lives easier to encourage the practice of cycling, combining personal experiences and healthcare information, with the intention of nurturing the audience on how to become a cyclist.
