Abstract

BARRERA BUTELER, Guillermo E.  and  SOLA, Victorino F.. THEEND OFLIFE THROUGH THE CONSTITUTION. ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF POWERSIN THE REGULATION OF THE PATIENT'S RIGHT TO DECIDE HIS DIGNIFIED DEATH. Rev. Fac. [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.2, pp.1-12. ISSN 1850-9371.

Despite the regular perception of the citizenship in order that the Constitutional Law would invariably refer to the text of the national Constitution -and, even, to the substantial body of judicial decisions that interpret it-, the constitutional operator could not neglect that the federal principle, as a method of division of powers by virtue of which it is enabled, under certain conditions, at the levels of general and local government to act within a coordinated and, at the same time, indepen-dent space, has far-reaching consequences in relation to the exercise of constitutional right to a dignified death.

Keywords : Medical treatment advanced directive - Right to withdraw life-sustaining equipment - Federalism - Distribution of powers.
