Abstract
RESNIK, Ana María. Caracas is "in search of an Author": City conditions between randomtopia and latency. An. Inst. Arte Am. Investig. Estét. Mario J. Buschiazzo [online]. 2022, vol.52, n.1, pp.1-17. ISSN 2362-2024.
The landscape known by the people of Caracas, with reference areas and meeting spaces, has changed radically as a result of the transformations of all kinds that have taken place in the country, forcing us to rethink the forms of action and expression in the city. Caracas has thus become a "place of chance" or azarotopy, characterizing its current landscape as a wild cultural landscape, due to the subversion of the traditional order of meaning. These conditions, typical of liminal states, have allowed the identification of survival strategies, whose logic of appearance is latent in the very cultural tradition where they emerge, operating alternately. The effectiveness of these resolution structures glimpses the capacity of the communities to respond, constituting themselves as agents of representation.
Keywords : randomtopia; liminal states; survival strategies; latency; landscape; Caracas; XXth and XXIst Centuries.
