Resumen
VILLAGRA, Emilia. The construction of the Province and the Kolla alterity from the State and the Academy between the XIX and XXI centuries (Salta, Argentina). Folia [online]. 2022, n.43, pp.53-80. ISSN 0325-8238. http://dx.doi.org/10.30972/fhn.0435845.
This article analyses the provincial formations of alterity in the province of Salta. In order to address the typologies constructed as valid or disqualifying around ethnicity and social class, it charts the classifications instituted by both the State and the ruling elite during the consolidation of Salta's hegemonic identity. Simultaneously, the paper examines academic precedents that specifically address the populations of the inter-Andean valleys, related to the Kolla people, identifying ways of naming the indigenous people of that area. It includes as well a section that considers stories and memories generated during a workshop that took place in the municipality of Nazareno, northwest of Salta. Finally, this article also incorporates files that belong to the historical book of the primary school of the aforementioned municipality. Both registers provide an approach to the history of the town and explain the way certain typologies and social classifications were historically articulated and reinforced.
