Resumen

TCACH, Nydia  y  PAYTAS, M.. Incidencia de altas temperaturas durante el reproductivo sobre el rendimiento de algodón (Gossypium hirsutum) cultivado en diferentes distanciamientos entre surcos. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2020, vol.46, n.1, pp.56-65. ISSN 1669-2314.

The effect of climate change is currently observed in a wide range of ecosystems and species in all regions of the world in response to the increase in temperature. The row spacing influences the architecture of the plants, modifying the microclimate and the temperature of the canopy.

The objective of this study was to determine the response of cotton crops to temperature increases for two row spacing’s, with special emphasis on: I) parameters of development and growth; II) performance and its components; III) fiber quality parameters. The treatments consisted of a combination of two spacing’s (1.00 and 0.48 m) with two thermal treatments (without and with temperature increase) To achieve the increase (5 ºC in average) of temperature, transparent polyethylene tents were installed in the reproductive period during three consecutive weeks in dry land. Row spacing’s showed differences when temperatures were high. In the year of greatest water availability, the thermal treatments did not show differences in yield between row spacing’s revealing that cloudiness and rainfall mitigated part of the thermal stress.

Palabras clave : abiotic stress; cotton; reproductive period; climatic change; dry land..
