Resumen

GVOZDENOVICH, Jorge Jesus; BIDEGAIN, Mario Pérez; BARBAGELATA, Pedro  y  NOVELLI, Leonardo. Validación del generador climático cligen para predecir la erosión hídrica en el norte de la región pampeana, Argentina. Cienc. suelo [online]. 2017, vol.35, n.1, pp.105-116. ISSN 1850-2067.

The current agricultural production is mainly focused in increase crops yield by optimizing soil resource use, in which climate has an important role. Therefore, it is necessary to consider models that simulate adequately climate patterns that affect not only crops growing but also soil erosive process. The climate generator CLIGEN generates storm patterns which are required by many hydrological physical models. For example, the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) applies the model to a wide range of topographies, vegetation, soil conditions, and weather to estimate sediment production and runoff. CLIGEN model validation is a primary condition for a subsequent inclusion and proper operation of the WEPP model. The objective of this work was to validate CLIGEN climate generator for precipitation and temperature for the weather station of Parana, Entre Rios. The results indicate that the annual, monthly and daily average precipitation was successfully simulated by CLIGEN. The annual maximum, monthly maximum, and monthly minimum temperature showed not significant differences between the observed and estimated data. The CLIGEN model simulated adequately the averaged parameters of all variables of precipitation and temperature. This result indicate that CLIGEN could be used with a high level of confidence to simulate, on a daily, monthly or yearly basis, different climate scenarios to feed models that estimate soil loss, like USLE, RUSLE, and WEPP in our region. The use of CLIGEN in WEPP model could provide reliable data useful to generate climate risk situations of soil water erosion.
