Anatomical correspondences can be used to provide a measure of the intensity and duration of occupation of human groups, and to evaluate the natural processes that affect the distribution and dispersion of material, therefore enabling an examination of the integrity and resolution of archaeological contexts. In the present paper the displacements of the bone remains of guanaco (Lama guanicoe) are evaluated at Paso Otero 1 site using three types of anatomical correspondences: intermemberal joins, bilateral correspondences and mechanical refits. These were established based on the criteria of fusion, lateralness and macroscopic attributes. The analyses that were carried out allowed 121 anatomical correspondences to be made. Of the total number of correspondences, 74 belonged to intermemberal joins, 38 to bilateral correspondences and 9 to mechanical refits. The average displacement for the different types of correspondences was 24.22 cm, which suggests a low displacement of the bone remains. In many cases the different correspondences were found to occupy different levels of the excavation, which indicates a synchrony between the bone elements, allowing the inference to be made that Paso Otero 1 has a high degree of resolution.
