This project is a continuation of previous UBACyT research projects about gender equity in cardiovascular patients health care (2000-3) and the way of gender subjectivity contributes to coronary risk construction both in men and women (1998-2000) The aim of this work is studying the degree of integrality and gender equity in health care practices among women in the City of Buenos Aires. Detecting needs, signifi- cations and health care practices in population, practitioners and programmes. It is an exploratory-descriptive project that uses qualitative methodology in data recollection and analysis. Action participant techniques are used to assess obstacles and to collaborate in the building of a more integral model in women's health promotion and care from a gender perspective. It includes both health needs according to age stage, and a prevention angle towards the following stages, as a way of enlarging subjects' capacities to live a healthier life acquiring greater levels of citizenship.
