This work aims to analyze the technological convergence caused by the transformations in mobile telephony and the Internet in the concentrated area of Argentina as a contemporary expression of the technological phenomenon in the context of the coexistence and succession of territorial divisions of labor.

The article is divided into three parts. First, we approach the idea of technological convergence as a manifestation of the contemporary technological phenomenon. Second, we explain the formation of a concentrated area in Argentina and the development of telecommunications especially associated to the Smartphone, which present an uneven distribution in the territory. Third, and before the final observations, we examine the diversity of companies that are part of the urban economy circuits linked to technological convergence. The methodology was mainly based on the review of theoretical and empirical bibliographic sources and the consultation of secondary sources such as government websites, companies and the written press.
