Resumen

PARISE, Agustín. Castilian, French, or Dutch Source? The Inclusion of the Dutch Civil Code (1838) in the "Castilian" Concordances (1843) of Saint-Joseph. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2017, n.54, pp.1-10. ISSN 1853-1784.

The study focusses on the 1843 Spanish translation of the Civil Code of Holland (1838). Firstly, it addresses the emergence of works of legislative concordances during the nineteenth century. The main focus is on the French Concordance of 1840. Secondly, it presents the Spanish translation of that 1840 French opus. Thirdly, it provides an analysis of the Spanish translation of the text of the Low Countries. Fourthly, it offers information on the reception of the translation. This study aims to demonstrate that translations of legal materials served to further expand the circulation of ideas and the resulting codification movement that gained momentum during the nineteenth century.

Palabras clave : Codification, Comparative Legislation, Private Law, the Netherlands, Translations.
