Resumen

LLAMOSAS, Esteban. Founding a constitutionalism to consolidate the republic: the teaching of Constitutional Law at the University of Córdoba in the second half of the 19th century. Rev. hist. derecho [online]. 2021, n.61, pp.53-79. ISSN 1853-1784.

In 1858, in a context of political tension caused by the separation of the province of Buenos Aires, the government of the Argentine Confederation created a chair for the teaching of Constitutional Law at the University of Córdoba in order to disseminate the principles of the 1853 Constitution and promote the national union. This article analyzes the translations of Joseph Story and James Kent used in this chair and tries to reveal, from the theoretical framework of localization and legal translation, the way in which the University understood the constitutional liberalism of the 19th century.

Palabras clave : University of Cordoba; 19thcentury; Constitutional Lawteaching; legal translation; Joseph Story.
