RODRIGUEZ, Gonzalo Martin. Desigualdades socioeconómicas y segregación residencial en dos décadas de signo político y económico opuesto: La aglomeración Gran Buenos Aires entre 1991 y 2010. Cuad. urbano [online]. 2016, vol.21, n.21. ISSN 1853-3655.
Socioeconomic inequalities and residential segregation over a period of two decades of opposing political and economic policies in the Greater Buenos Aires agglomeration between 1991 and 2010 A study of the parallel evolution of socioeconomic residential segregation (SRS) and socioeconomic inequality indicators in the Greater Buenos Aires Agglomeration (AGBA) over two periods of opposing political and economic trends (neoliberalism frst, progressivism later) which developed in Argentina between 1991 and 2010. The main finding of the research is that between 2001 and 2010 levels of SRS in the AGBA may have decreased as a consequence of, among other factors, the strong and progressive distribution of wealth in favor of the lower and medium lower strata of population. This is the frst study to provide data on the levels of SRS in the AGBA based on information of the last census of 2010, and also provides a rigorous and innovative methodology to deal with problems arising from the use of census tracts to measure residential segregation.
